Meeting #11: January 18th 2017

Today the Daisies worked with the Juniors on the start of the Junior Energize Journey. We discussed all kinds of energy and how we use it and advantages and disadvantages of the types of energy we use.

We watched a video of the bombardier beetle that sprays enemies with a 100 degree C liquid when provoked! We then got out our science experiment kits and mixed together an endothermic reaction--our solutions dropped 20 degrees F in a matter of seconds! Next meeting we'll put together an exothermic reaction and heat things up.

Brownies began their Brownie Quest Journey and began making paper plate puppets representative of the Mexican holiday el Dia del Muerte for a SWAP to hand out at World Thinking Day in February.

Meeting #10: 01/05/2017

In anticipation of the February 25th World Thinking Day  (2 - 4 pm) to be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, we learned about girls, family and life in Mexico and compared this information to our lives in the U.S. The girls had really awesome questions for Eastwood's Senora Lasker to answer. We also got in our cookie training. The cookie sale begins next Friday, January 13th!
